What's ahead in 2021?

As you probably realize, California is an outlier among the states and remains remarkably independent and self-willed in setting its environmental course.

And much of the action in 2021 no doubt will come at the state level as California is the front-line player in the nation on wildfire vulnerability, response, and policy.

We will press for home hardening in lieu of counterproductive, fire-promoting fuels-reduction projects. We'll push for better management to achieve real forest health (including saving big trees). We assert that natural, truly healthy forest ecosystems resist catastrophic fire to a greater degree than industrially managed ones. And we have the science to back up our assertions.

It is ever our quest to safeguard and restore California's forests— to rebuild the beauty, productivity, and resilience of these magnificent ecosystems.
