GLOBAL
CLIMATE CHANGE:
SELECTED RESOURCES
Several organizations are educating citizens about the effects of
global climate change and the devastating impacts these could have
environmentally, socially and economically. Most advocate combating
global warming by limiting emissions of greenhouse gasses, especially
from the combustion of fossil fuels.
Environmental Defense Fund (EDF)
The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is a national group with over
300,000 members. EDF links "science, economics, and law to
create innovative and economically viable solutions to today’s
environmental problems." All of EDF’s programs are aimed
at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United
Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is an organization of scientists
who evaluate peer-reviewed and published scientific and technical
literature on global climate change. The IPCC has issued four reports
on global climate change since 1990 that synthesize current research
and provide assessments and projections. The 2007 report is available
in PDF on the IPCC website:
